The security Service of Ukraine claim that the Russian Consul will be allowed to meet with detainees in the Luhansk region the Russian military Victor Ageev after the urgent investigative actions.
“…the Russian side was informed that permission for holding a meeting with Ageev officials of the Consulate General of Russia in Kharkiv will be provided after the urgent investigative (search) actions, what the Russian side will be informed in addition”, – reports a press-the SBU center on Wednesday, July 26.
In SBU reminded that the armed forces soldier Ageyev was arrested June 24 in the zone of the military operation in the Donbass, and only two weeks later, on 6 July, the Russian Consulate General in Kharkov has sent a letter with a request to grant permission for a meeting of representatives of the diplomatic institution with the detainee. In addition, the Ukrainian secret service considers baseless the accusations of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation in violation of international law and recalled the case of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov detained by Russian security services in may 2014.
“SBU wants to remind the Russian diplomats about their practice, such actions by the example of the meeting of consular officers of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine Oleh Sentsov who had been illegally detained by representatives of the Russian special services in may 2014. Despite the numerous notes and requests of the Ukrainian side in the Russian Federation, this meeting took place only six months after its conclusion in December 2015. Earlier , the Russian foreign Ministry urged Kiev to provide consular access to the detained in the Donbas Russian mercenary Viktor Ageev.
