In Ukraine’s outdated legislative framework for privatization. This was stated by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman in an interview with “New time”.
“We need many objects which privatizations aren’t subject, to exclude from the list. You need to get enough good quality work of the state property Fund. And most importantly – to develop regulations to privatization were competitive,” – said Groisman.
He noted that the Verkhovna Rada has repeatedly failed to vote for changes in laws relating to privatization, since the public sector is the source of corruption and inefficiency.
“So privatization will be subject to one or other closures or the attacks from many sides,” – said Groisman.
The Prime Minister said that the government has already developed a new draft law on privatization, which was adopted at the last meeting of the Cabinet. This document, in the words of Groisman, creates the conditions for competition and a transparent system for privatization.

“And, importantly, the process of the privatization: if it is contested, all parties shall (be considered) in accordance with, English law. Now we need to join forces to ensure that the law passed in the Ukrainian Parliament”, – stressed the head of government.
The draft law was sent to President Petro Poroshenko. “He [Poroshenko] told me that it is quite a good document and that it is ready to support it. I wish we had made it to Parliament and it was voted,” – said Groisman.
We will remind, earlier the state property Fund of Ukraine announced the beginning of the auction with price increase on the sale of stakes in eight electricity companies. Auction will be held from 15 to 18 August.
