The submarine, passing along the coast of Finland, has become outmoded

Nuclear submarine “Dmitry Donskoy” have to impress the residents and guests of St. Petersburg during the annual naval parade in late July. So says the military Professor, National defence University of Finland (Maanpuolustuskorkeakoulu) petteri lalu (Lalu Petteri).

“This year in Russia want to demonstrate something really impressive. And it is the largest Russian naval technology.”

Although this submarine is the largest in the world, she seems to be good except for the provision of information impact. According to the Newspapers, on the sub there are no more nuclear weapons.

The last time a submarine was used for testing new missiles.

“If the testing conducted so far, the submarine is unlikely sent to the Baltic sea”.

According to petteri lalu, want to impress the home audience as well as on the countries, next to which is a nuclear submarine. Russia expects that passing the borders of other countries write the technique in different countries.

“Of course, with such an operation primarily want to demonstrate their power.”

Apart from the submarine “Dmitry Donskoy” in the path is also nuclear-powered missile cruiser “Peter the Great”. Both ships will participate in the annual Day of the Navy, which is held the last weekend in July.

Nuclear submarine will no longer be used

Built at the height of the cold war in the early 1980s, the submarine was to be used in the Arctic ocean in the event of a nuclear war.

In Western countries it is known as the submarine of “Typhoon”, Russia, under the name “Shark”.

For operational use in the Gulf this sub is too big.

The Professor believes that the emergence of the submarine in the Baltic sea is connected with the military exercises “West”, which will take place in September.

“The main task of these exercises is the pressure on the West. The same Russia is trying to achieve, demonstrating the submarine,” says lalu.

Teachings of Russia and China — the big news

Military Professor drew even more attention to the joint military exercises of China and Russia in the Baltic sea.

“In recent years in the Baltic sea region is a real commotion. The emergence of a new party of action in the Baltic sea will only complicate the situation,” said lalu.

According to him, the joint exercises indicate the strengthening of military cooperation of Russia and China.

“Development in the Baltic sea protection of Maritime trade routes, China does not seem the wisest idea. Here the trade routes of China is hardly something threatening. On the other hand, in the Baltic sea can carry out even the exercises for the development of measures to combat piracy in the region of the Somali Peninsula.”

“Russia, which itself has driven itself into a dead end in Ukraine and which has few major allies and supporters, it is important to demonstrate cooperation with everyone, especially with the most capable partners. Such cooperation meets the interests of both countries”.

Russia previously took part in joint exercises with China in Asia. This year the Chinese will take part in joint exercises in the Baltic and Black seas.

Last year Russia sent its only aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” in the Mediterranean sea. The transfer was a difficulty due to the very poor condition of the vessel.
