In Ukraine, 51.6 per cent of respondents believe that the country should integrate into the European Union, and only 10.2% are in favour of closer cooperation with the Customs Union of the Eurasian economic Union. This is evidenced by the results of the joint survey Institute.Gorshenin and mission of the Foundation.Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine and Belarus.
According to the results of a survey conducted in may-June of this year, 25.4% of respondents were against integration with the EU and the customs Union. Additional 12.8% were unable to answer this question.
In addition, 26.5% of the respondents consider it appropriate rapprochement with the European Union in the General labor market of 26.4% in the total economic system, 24.2% in the overall security system (you can specify several options).
While 21.9% of respondents believe that Ukraine’s rapprochement with the EU would make sense from the point of view of joining the Schengen area, and 20.7% think it is advisable from the point of view of conducting common foreign policy.
In addition, 15.6% of respondents see the meaning in the General system of education and health with the EU and 12.1% in the overall energy market, 12% in harmonised EU legislation, 11,8% – in a common currency, 11.3% were in a joint cultural policy.
However, and 17.9% believe that Ukraine does not need to converge with the EU, and 16.6 per cent were undecided.
The survey was conducted in may-June this year, the study polled 2,000 respondents in all regions of Ukraine (excluding the occupied territories of the AR Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Lugansk regions), margin of error does not exceed 2.2%.
