The second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma met with the special representative of the United States Kurt Volker and discussed with him the situation in the Donbass. About this on his page in Facebook wrote press Secretary of Leonid Kuchma Daria olifer.
According to her, during the conversation the parties discussed the settlement of the situation in the Donbas.
“Kuchma noted the role and active position of the US in resolving the situation in the Donbas and thanked for their principled position and support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine”, – said olifer.

Both sides stressed that sustainable, long-term ceasefire and solution to the whole set of questions on security of the Minsk agreements is the key, without it there cannot be progress in the settlement of humanitarian, political and social issues.
“The parties have agreed to further contact on a regular basis,” said olifer.
Earlier, Walker said that in order to effectively counter Russian aggression, Ukraine should significantly increase.
