The United States and Russia have agreed to establish a channel of communication on Ukraine – Lavrov

Moscow and Washington agreed to establish a communication channel to promote the settlement of the situation in Ukraine.

This was announced by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov following the meeting of the Russian and us leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald trump.

“When discussing Ukraine, the U.S. side announced that they had appointed a special representative to promote efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, — said Lavrov. — We expect that he will arrive in Moscow in the near future.”

According to the Minister, the channel “between the representative of the Russian Federation and the representative of the United States” need to move towards the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict on the basis of the Minsk agreements, and “based on the potential that lies in the contact group and in the “channel format”.

Earlier it was reported that the American leader met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Instead of a 30 minute conversation leaders lasted more than two hours, they discussed such issues as the situation in Ukraine, the truce in Syria. There are reports of “clear mutual understanding” reached by the parties.
