Ukraine after strong exports have reduced sales of sugar

In June 2017, Ukrainian producers exported 6,355 thousand tons of sugar, while in may — 48,4 thousand tons. About it reports a press-service of the Association “ukrsahar”.

The largest importers of Ukrainian sugar are:

  • Georgia – 1504 tons;
  • Moldova – 1141 tons;
  • Turkmenistan – 881 tons.

“Producers have reduced their activity on the world market compared to the previous month because of lower world sugar prices and, accordingly, the subsequent supply in the current marketing year (MG) will be negligible,” — said the head of analytical Department “Ukrsakhar” Ruslana was Butila.

In General, for the September-June 2016/2017 MG, Ukrainian producers exported 738,5 thousand tons of sugar, which is almost 10 times more than in the same period of last marketing year — 71,3 thousand tons.

We will remind, the quota for duty-free sugar exports to the European Union Ukraine has exhausted in mid-March.
