The national guard reacted to the detention of Ukrainian soldier in Italy

The national guard of Ukraine (NSU) is concerned about the arrest of second-in-command of a platoon of a battalion of expeditious appointment the name of Sergei Kulchytsky, senior Sergeant Vitaly Marcia detained June 30, allegedly on suspicion in murder of photojournalist Andrea Rokelli in 2014.

This is stated in the official statement of the NGA, issued on 1 Jul.

“At the moment, the senior Sergeant Vitaly Markiv serves in the battalion. Kulchytskyy Deputy platoon commander. He went to Italy during a scheduled vacation,” the statement reads.

The national guard noted that the official information on detention Vitaly Marcia NSU were reported.

The statement also emphasized that in 2014 the battalion of a name of the Hero of Ukraine General Kulchytsky didn’t have any mortar.

“The Ukrainian law enforcement authorities criminal proceedings on the fact of the death of Italian citizen Andrea Roselli and his Russian partner Andrei Mironov. Thus, according to the Ukrainian investigation, the death of two journalists occurred as a result of shelling by the Russian-terrorist forces. I also want to stress that in 2014, the battalion named after Hero of Ukraine General Kulchytsky in the presence of not one mortar”, – stated in the national guard.

NSU added that together with the foreign Ministry and the General Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine will provide the necessary assistance to the detained national guardsman.

Earlier it was reported that on 30 June in the Italian city Bologna, on suspicion of involvement in the killing of photojournalist Rochelle have detained a Ukrainian volunteer.

The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine said that in Italy on suspicion of involvement in the death of the journalist was arrested by Ukrainian soldiers Marcia Vitali.

MP, coordinator of the national guard battalion named after General Kulchytsky Andrew Antonischak who is familiar with the detained Vitaly Merkavim, also noted that in 2014 the Ukrainian military is armed with mortars was not.

Later the adviser to the interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko said that the Russian security services could contribute to the arrest in Italy Vitaly Marcia.

“The whole story stinks and is very similar to another Russian provocation. The fact that the battalion of them. Kulchytsky was not mortars, of which it would be possible to hit the Italian photographer… Italian law enforcement authorities should provide Ukraine with information, where it would be clearly painted, what evidence they have… We assume that, most likely, is the Russian provocation, that the security services of Russia gave to Italy some flimsy documents on the basis of which the Italians opened a criminal case”, – he said.

Recall, may 24, 2014 near the village Andreevka near Slavyansk, Donetsk region, under mortar fire hit a group of foreign journalists. Italian photographer Andrea Rokkelli and his translator were killed.
