Progress in the justice sector in Ukraine is being discussed in Washington at the highest level. This was at the international conference “Ukraine-EU: partnership in a changing world,” said U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.
“To ensure the future of Ukraine, we need progress in the justice sector. This is discussed at the highest level in Washington. Judicial reform is affecting people where they live,” said Marie Yovanovitch.
According to her, the new Supreme court is the first step on the road to recovery of people’s confidence in the judicial system.
“Electing the right judges to the Supreme court and education anti-corruption courts – the first steps to restore the trust of Ukrainians in the judicial system”, – said the Ambassador.
We will remind, earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that one of the main priorities for the coming months is the launch of a new Supreme court.
