The parties to the conflict in the Donbass violate the agreement on cease-fire, so it will be difficult to resolve the crisis in the short term. This statement was made by foreign Minister of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, reports channel “112 Ukraine” with reference to Reuters.
“It is very difficult to find a way out after all these years. Of course, we’re trying, but it’s not like we will have a (high resolution – ed.), challenges in the region,” he said.
Gabriel also stated that he supports the continuing efforts within the Normandy format, however, the OSCE observers are not optimistic, given the situation in the region.
“I have no good posts on this issue,” – said the head of the German foreign Ministry.
The mediators in the Ukrainian crisis settlement – Germany and France – are doing everything possible to bring Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table, he said.
We will remind, earlier the President of France Emmanuel macron said that a meeting of the leaders of “Norman Quartet” will take place in late June or early July. He stressed that the situation in the Donbass for three years creates a big problem both for the local population and Ukraine and Europe and Russia.
