— In fact such competition, of course. Especially from the point of view of Russia. It is not only about competition but also about the strategic war between the West and Russia. It’s not the cold war, as before, it’s a mixed war. The West, including Ukraine in its sphere of influence, dealt a heavy blow to Russia. About ten thousand people were killed during the fighting in the country. Russia, to be able to confront the West, looking for new partners. This is one of the main reasons for the expansion of the SCO.
On the other hand, we are talking about large-scale geopolitical and economic competition between China and the United States. Interestingly, these countries are at the same time want to cooperate with each other. For example, the Chinese new silk road project provides for cooperation with the EU.
— How would you comment on this complex situation?
In our time, this new state of the postmodern world. The world’s leading countries fiercely compete with each other, but at the same time, they can’t refuse to cooperate for their own interests.
— Do you think the SCO countries can resolve the problems between them?
Is a complex process. As I said, the SCO is a community of States that does not have (and cannot have) any ideology, it aims to protect their interests in the postmodern world. Now China and Pakistan are seriously competing with each other. The situation with India and Pakistan is known. Here each will act, guided primarily by their interests. — Can the SCO contribute to stability in the region which it covers?
— Hard to say. There is the problem of Afghanistan. At the moment the SCO in terms of its sphere of influence seems to have surrounded him. But this country is actually considered the base of the West in the region. At the last NATO summit, the member countries of this organization decided to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan. Four Central Asian countries — members of SCO. How should you regard their situation?
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. SCO does not hide that under the guise of the fight against radicalism it is trying to keep under control the development of Islam in the region and to prevent this. In fact SCO is a project of environment of Central Asia, or, the true name of Turkestan. After the Soviet collapse in our countries have experienced wonderful events. Turkestan — the center of Islamic civilization. Now Muslims in our region again awaken. It is important that this awakening takes place peacefully, reasonable and not directed against such organizations as SCO. At the last meeting of the organization of the new President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev has urged Kyrgyzstan to open borders. This is a very important step. Because as the unity and solidarity with each other Central Asian countries included in the SCO will become an important force in the organization.
