Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy is convinced that Ukraine and Georgia should become the next members of NATO. He told about it in interview to TV channel “Rada”.
“On June 5 has become a full NATO member, Montenegro. And we are convinced that the next members of NATO should be, and Ukraine, and Georgia. And I also talk with the top leadership of the United States of America during your next visit (from 12 to 17 June. – Ed.)”, – said the speaker.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada on 8 June adopted the law “On amendments to some legislative acts” (regarding the foreign policy of Ukraine) (No. 6470), stating that Ukraine will deepen its cooperation with NATO with the aim of gaining membership in the Alliance.
In turn, NATO took note of the decision and stressed that the priority for the Kiev are currently reforms.
