Poroshenko signed a law on private detectives and returned for revision

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko vetoed the law No. 3726, authorizing the provision of private detective services. This is evidenced by the data in the corresponding page of the bill on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

In the proposals to the law Poroshenko noted that the list of permitted types of private detective services formed without consideration of requirements of the legislation.

It is emphasized that the permit detectives to conduct foreign surveillance in open areas in public places and in transport is not mapped to the statutory prohibition of detectives to carry out operational-search activities which are the exclusive competence of the operational units.

Poroshenko returned the law to Parliament for reconsideration and proposes to harmonize its regulations with the base legislation.

Rada adopted a law on private detective activities on April 13.
