The prices of railway tickets for journey in compartment and SV can begin to install itself, “Ukrzaliznytsia” (UZ) without the participation of the government. This was stated by first Deputy Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine and head of the Supervisory Board of Railways Evgeny Kravtsov in an interview to “RBC-Ukraine”.
“We are considering the idea of liberalization of prices on passenger tickets, namely, deregulation of tickets in classes a compartment and SV. This idea is taken not from the ceiling. In trains “intercity+” ticket prices in first class are not governed by the Tariff guide, which publishes the Ministry of infrastructure, and are installed directly TIES. I have not heard that the price of the first class “intercity+” is unreasonably expensive or ME “fat” and robbing of passengers,” – said Kravtsov.
He is confident that this step allowed the BONDS of a flexible approach to pricing, for example, peak demand on Friday night to raise ticket prices to those passengers who are not critical to go on Friday evening to replace trains on other days, for example, on Thursday.
“This allows you to more evenly distribute passengers on the trains during the week and respond quickly to changing situations. This is a normal international practice,” – said Kravtsov.
He noted that tariff liberalization will not affect social transport fares on economy class cars. Also provides that “Ukrzaliznytsia” will have to guarantee the availability of the train a certain percentage of social parlor cars.
