Dear Ukrainians!
Only the Senate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the upper house of Parliament, approved the decision on the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
The path to this was long and much more complex than we imagined at the start of this process. Why did this happen? The Kremlin is affected by chronic Ukrainophobia, was messing with us at every step. He used all available resources: money, propaganda, lies, intrigue, intelligence agencies and interest groups. He played up the anti-European populist forces in the European Union, which used the existing bureaucratic leads and created new ones. All this was done with the sole purpose to make impossible the ratification of the Agreement to bury him and, consequently, to stop the course of Ukraine to the reunification of our European family.
It is the reunion, because historically, we were part of it… by the Way, since the old Ukrainian Prince Yaroslav the Wise and his daughter-the inhabitant of Kiev Anna Yaroslavna that just yesterday, Putin tried in front of the whole of Europe to kidnap the Russian history.
You all know that at the finish the ratification process has stalled in the Netherlands. Historic deal for us was under real threat. Until the last moment all the diplomatic team in the country struggled to star on the European horizon are favorable for Ukraine. In this we were supported and helped us with our European partners.
Thanks for the support my friend Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Dutch government, National Assembly, Senate. On behalf of the Ukrainian people thank the citizens of the Netherlands, which during the recent elections in the mass, did not support the anti-European party, and instead delegated authority to the responsible Pro-European forces.
After the elections in Austria, the Netherlands, France, the ratification of the Association Agreement with Ukraine showed positive trends of consolidation of these Pro-European forces, which previously had certain problems as a result of the Dutch referendum and Breccia.
A United front, we got an important victory. A United front we defended the Association Agreement, the way which is three and a half years ago was opened by the participants of the Euromaidan and revolution of Dignity.
Already the first year of the provisional application of the Agreement demonstrated how the high potential it has for Ukraine. Our exports to EU countries grew by almost a quarter (24.5%). Ukraine gradually integrated into European policy in many areas.
The entry into force of the Association Agreement, free trade area and visa-free regime with the EU, which starts in exactly ten days, is extremely important steps on our way to a United Europe.
We determined to go to our strategic goals. It is a guarantee of our freedom, independence and territorial integrity. Europe — is our civilizational choice.
In the near future the Netherlands will give the instrument of ratification in Brussels. And then the Council of the European Union as its special decision start execution of the Association Agreement with the EU at its full capacity.
