Parliament intends to provide free meals for children of immigrants

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the draft law that will provide free meals to children of internally displaced persons.

For the bill “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning providing free meals to children of internally displaced persons” (No. 3459-1) in the first reading voted in plenary on Wednesday 226 people’s deputies.

The bill proposes to amend the laws of Ukraine “On preschool education”, “On baby food”, “On abdesselam education”, “On vocational education”, “On ensuring rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons”, to enhance social protection in relation to internally displaced persons by creating the legal conditions for providing free meals to their children.

The draft law foresees that free meals will be given to children of internally displaced persons, who study in educational institutions. The document also proposes to provide nutrition to newborn children of internally displaced persons.

Recall, the Verkhovna Rada changed the rules of collecting maintenance through the courts.
