The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko promises to sign the law “On amendments to the law of Ukraine “On banks and banking” on state guarantees of deposits of physical persons” (No. 5553). About this Poroshenko said at a press conference.
“We tried to carefully calculate the possible risks associated with the signing and enactment of the law on guaranteeing deposits of PrivatBank. The law is signed, veto I will not apply, and investors were not in danger,” said Poroshenko.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law provides for state guarantees of deposits of physical persons in banks for the sum more than 200 thousand UAH. That is, according to this document, the state guarantees to depositors with 100% state share is retained for the full amount of deposits.
