Well-known Russian music critic Arthur Gasparyan congratulated Ukrainians on a visa-free regime, and reminded how he was going to Russia, but traded him to the war and the annexation of Crimea. He said this on TV channel NewsOne.
“I congratulate the Ukrainians with this long-awaited and the right step on the part of the European Union”, – said the journalist.
According to him, in 2015, Russia could get bezviz with the EU, but the political leadership of the country decided that war with Ukraine is more important for Russians than for a trip to Europe.
“We’re also sat waiting for bezveza a very long time. It is now (in Russia. – Ed.) say that this bezviz – humiliation. But I remember well when there was no war, no of the Crimea and the Donbass when Russia was still a member of the G8, there was talk that and Russia will get bezviz. Then it’s all gone – we (Russia and its leadership) traded bezviz “krymnash” – said Gasparyan, adding that this issue was almost resolved.
We will remind, today the Council of the European Union approved the granting of a visa-free regime for Ukraine – it was the last of the European court, which had to make a decision on granting Ukraine the visa regime liberalization.
