A lot of information being spoken about that the Americans are preparing a campaign which aims to blockade and subsequent elimination of LIH (banned in Russia. — approx. ed.) in the Eastern part of Syria. Recently, significantly increased the number of American military and was deployed a few small bases, or “air support points”, which will be used in battle. Moreover, the Americans have pushed the “Syrian democratic” forces to the West of the Euphrates river and is located in the Western part of the city of es-Saur. On the other hand, in the South-East of Raqqa, the Syrian Arab army, supported by a national defense units, is a dangerous and bitter struggle for their positions in the city and airport of Deir ez-Zor. It seems that this war against ISIS, in fact it is waged against “the organization of American States” and Americans, as the latter do not miss the chance to put pressure on the above-mentioned units and prevent them to destroy ISIS. The best proof for US is that a huge number of American air attacks, which led to the destruction of strategic targets of the Syrian army in the vicinity of the city and the airport was “accidental or done by mistake.”
If the purpose of America in the battle of raqqa — is the destruction of ISIS and the maintenance of opposition to the state and the Syrian Arab army groups, why America opposes this army which is also fighting ISIS in Deir ezzor? What is more important for the Americans to expel the terrorist organization from Raqqa, or to compel the Syrian Arab army to leave Deir ez-Zor?
Without a doubt, the presence of the Syrian Arab army in Deir ez-Zor is of strategic importance from a geographical point of view due to several reasons.
First, is the possibility of creating a single Syrian military base in the East which will then become the main focal point for the liberation of the areas of Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor, up to the border with Iraq. The airport will become an important strategic target, especially after the minimum of technical equipment, because it will be able to host a huge number of bombers, as well as to guarantee air cover. In addition, this release will be a sign in support of Syrian Arab army with many tribes and clans of Deir ez-Zor, which had suffered grief and troubles from ISIS and political power in the region.
Second, is the issue of coordination with the Iraqi army. That is why it is extremely important the existence of an axis of resistance to terrorism and counter-arrogance and occupation by America. In addition, there is a vital strategic interest for the Syrian and Iraqi sides from the point of view of security. In the future this will lead to the establishment of control over Syrian army in Deir ez-Zor and the extension of the zone of influence to the border with Iraq.
Therefore, it is natural that Americans seek to stop the expansion of the Syrian troops in the East, and to destroy the Syrian-Iraqi strategic project before you get rid of ISIS in raqqa. They were certainly right that no opposition group regardless of its affiliation (Kurds, tribes, Free Syrian army or new army, etc.) and available resources will not be able to replace ISIS, and also successfully confront the Syrian Arab army in Deir ez-Zor or to resist at the boundaries of Raqqa. Here it is necessary to take into account that the United States will begin with the capture of Palmyra and Al-sohni or the coasts of al-Assad East of Aleppo.
Thus, the Americans have only one way in regard to strong Syrian Arab army in the East, namely: the attack on the units in Deir ez-Zor before you complete “the process of expulsion” and the destruction of the terrorist group in raqqa. Will this time the attack is equally open and obvious, as was the case with the military airfield “Sirat” when an excuse was invented the use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheyhun? Or this time they will resort to another maneuver to cover up their true purpose?
