Dodon will go to Putin for military parade on may 9

The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has accepted the invitation of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin to attend military parade on may 9 on red square and to speak at the St. Petersburg economic forum in June.

“In particular, during our meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin discussed the current political situation in our country and bilateral relations between our countries. Accepted the invitation to attend the gala May 9 military parade on red square, as well as to attend and speak at the St. Petersburg economic forum in early June. Once again thanked the Russian President for the positive solution of questions on the export of Moldovan goods to the Russian market and Amnesty of migrants from Moldova,” wrote Igor Dodon.

Earlier it was reported that the presidents of the countries of the Eurasian economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) agreed to provide Moldova with the status of observer in EurAsEC.

“We looked in the narrow circle of the appeal of the Republic of Moldova on granting the status of observer in the Eurasian economic Union. And the Supreme Eurasian economic Union in the narrow circle decided to welcome and support the intention of the Republic of Moldova on the status of observer in the Eurasian economic Union,” said Atambayev.

As reported, the Dodon on 17 January said that following the talks with Putin have expressed a desire to terminate the Agreement on Association of Moldova with the European Union and to become an observer in the Eurasian economic Union.

In response, the Prime Minister of Moldova, Paul Philip stated that the Memorandum of cooperation of Moldova with the Eurasian economic Union, which was signed by President Igor Dodon, just paper, it has no legal value.
