Chilean experts, conducted an experiment on laboratory mice, found that olive oil prevents the deposition of cholesterol on the walls of blood vessels, writes “Orthodox”.
In the study, researchers divided mice into 4 groups. One group of subjects over twelve weeks of consuming a large amount of animal fats and olive oil. At the end of the experiment, tissue samples and blood taken from this group showed that the cholesterol levels remained unchanged.
A similar effect scientists attribute contained in olive oil, hydroxytyrosol substance. It is a strong antioxidant that protects liver, heart and brain.
Despite the usefulness of this product, the experts recommend not to exceed the daily dosage in the amount of one-two tablespoons, as olive oil is highly rich in calories.
