Poroshenko told what was agreed with Merkel and Hollande

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he discussed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande agenda of the meeting of leaders of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia.

“Yesterday, during a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Hollande, we have agreed that we will initiate the agenda for the summit “Norman format” we must strongly enforce and implement the Minsk agreements, to discuss a road map of the Minsk agreements, the implementation of this process”, – he said at a press conference after talks with the President of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis on Tuesday in Riga.

The President of Ukraine also expressed gratitude to European partners to extend sanctions against Russia in case Russia will demonstrate its readiness to implement the security package.

“I am grateful to our European partners that, in the case when Russia does not demonstrate its willingness to implement the security package, our partners are ready to extend sanctions against Russia, as an effective mechanism of motivation of the Russian Federation to comply with its obligations during the signing of the Minsk agreements” – said Poroshenko.
