Ukraine will help with the reform of state-owned banks

The world Bank (WB) is ready to cooperate with Ukraine to upgrade the development strategy of the state banks and of distressed debt. About it reports a press-service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) following the meeting, head of the national Bank Valeria Gontareva with the senior Vice-President of the world Bank Kyle Peters, Vice President Cyril Muller, and the Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova satu Kähkönen.

The parties discussed the current state and future of the world Bank’s assistance to Ukraine in the context of the banking sector.

The head of the NBU thanked the WB representatives for the fruitful cooperation, particularly noting the assistance of the international organizations in enhancing the institutional capacity of the Deposit guarantee Fund of individuals.

Recall that after the nationalization of PrivatBank in Ukraine, more than half of the banking sector is concentrated in the hands of the state.
