Lutsenko: Ex-Deputy head of “Naftogaz” Katsuba testified about the higher-level mafia members

The former Deputy head of Board NAK “Naftogaz Ukraine” Alexander Katsuba deals with the investigation testified about his membership in an organized criminal group and the higher members of the mafia, said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.

“The younger Katsuba served about eight months, “Savchenko’s law” is already 16. On the sixth or seventh month wrote a statement about the readiness to deal with the investigation”, – Lutsenko declared on air of TV channel ZIK on Tuesday.

According to the public Prosecutor, Katsuba stated on several dozen pages of his testimony about his membership in an organized criminal group and expressed readiness to pay the sum of 100 million UAH.

“The court took into account the fact that his statements are very serious. He actually gave evidence of some higher members of the mafia, so the deal was secured,” – said Lutsenko.

He also noted that after securing a deal by the court a person is considered convicted, but can move freely on the territory of Ukraine.

Earlier Lutsenko announced that as of the evening of 14 February 2017 last resort in the amount of UAH 100 million Katsuba was paid.

“This is the basis for the court’s examination of the deal on his conviction and sentencing,” – said the Prosecutor General.
