The first military clash with the Russians occurred during the occupation of the Crimea. The head of the General staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko told in interview to the edition “Day”.
“The first military contact with the Russians took place at the time – our children one of the regiments of special forces clashed with diversionno-prospecting group of Russians in mainland Ukraine”, – he said, Recalling the events of the occupation of Crimea by Russia.
“It so happens that I remember in detail the day when there was an event but not remember the number. This is a subjective perception, a continuous kaleidoscope of events. It was a terrible 2014. The situation is changing every minute, until such time as the line of demarcation more or less decided, and it is relatively static – sometime in November,” he added.
Earlier Viktor Muzhenko also said that the Ukrainian army can liberate Lugansk in 2014, but this was prevented by the tragic events in Ilovaisk.
