Trump instructed to check the procedure for the issuance of U.S. visas

The President of the United States Donald trump instructed the head of the Department of homeland security (DHS), the Secretary of state and the Director of national intelligence to review the procedure for the issuance of U.S. visas for possible expansion of the list of required information. This is stated in the Memorandum posted on the White house website, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

In particular, Minister of national security and Department of state John Kelly and Rex Tillerson will have to determine, “whether from other countries with additional information when considering applications for their citizens to receive visas”, and if Yes, what and to what extent.

“The U.S. government must protect its citizens from terrorist attacks, including attacks on foreign nationals. To prevent penetration in the United States of foreign nationals who can contribute, support or commit violent, criminal or terrorist acts, the Executive authorities are obliged to tighten the process for consideration of applications for entry into the United States from foreign citizens”, – explained in the Memorandum.

In addition, the document calls on the Secretary of state, attorney General and Minister of internal security of the United States to ensure strict implementation of all existing grounds for exclusion of aliens in the United States and the subsequent compliance with laws.

“On 28 April 2017 and then on the last day of each month the Secretary of state, attorney General and Secretary of homeland security shall publish the data on issuing visas and granting of the status of immigrants. Reports should be written in clear non-technical language for further dissemination to the public. These reports will Supplement other information distributed by the Secretary of state, attorney General and Minister of internal security,” the document says.

Note, this Memorandum is associated with trump recently signed a new decree on strengthening of immigration control.

As reported, the document suspends entry into the United States citizens of the six countries and the program of reception of refugees. In particular, in accordance with the decree, entry into the United States will be temporarily banned (90 days), the Sudan, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. The ban will not affect those who have a valid visa issued before January 27, or residence in the United States.

In addition, the document 120 days suspended the program of reception of refugees, however, this measure does not apply to those who have adopted or pledged to adopt and appointed the time of arrival on the us territory.

The document comes into force on 16 March.
