Minsk city court has decided to appoint definitive punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 15 years in a penal colony guy, who was found guilty of assault with a chainsaw and an axe on employees and visitors of a shopping center in Minsk.
During the court debate, the Prosecutor asked for the accused a sentence of 15 years imprisonment. At the time of the offence the convicted person was under 18 years of age.
In accordance with the legislation of Belarus, he cannot be punished more severely than deprivation of liberty for a term of 15 years.
The defendant previously pleaded guilty. During the trial, the relatives of the deceased have filed civil lawsuits on compensation of moral harm for a total amount of 230 thousand rubles (115 million dollars).

The victim in the attack, the woman requires 29 thousand Belarusian rubles (about 14.5 thousands of dollars) compensation of moral harm.
The owner of the shopping center also has filed a claim on compensation of damage caused to the property during the attack.
According to investigators, the evening of 8 October 2016 the accused, went to the shopping center “New Europe” wound up with a chainsaw, being in an alcohol intoxication.
The first visitor to the Mall, he tried to kill him, managed to escape. After that, the teenager pounced on a woman born in 1973 and killed with the chainsaw and axe-hammers. Also, the offender caused injuries of varying severity two women.
Soon he was detained by employees and visitors of the shopping center, as well as the arrived police officers.
