The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy, Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko and members of the government met with families of Heroes of Heavenly hundred. The head of state instructed the government to ensure the establishment of state scholarships in honor of Heroes of Heavenly hundred. This reports the press service of the Ukrainian President.
During a meeting with families of Heroes of Heavenly hundred, the President noted that the dead activists had protected the lives of all the people and civilization of the European future, as well as the right of the Ukrainian people to determine their own destiny. He noted that millions of people who came to the Maidan in November 2013, demanded the right to live like human beings, the European way, but were met with bullets.
“We now feel, despite the fact that it’s been three years, unbearable pain of loss of relatives, friends and colleagues, due to the loss of countrymen and heroes. They are now with us in our minds and hearts,” — said Petro Poroshenko.
The President called a very important to the memory of the Heroes of hundreds of Heaven forever remain in the hearts of Ukrainians, and said that a few days ago launched the procedure for the elaboration of the project of the Memorial of memory of Heroes of Heavenly hundred.
“I asked if the Prime Minister and our government to support the initiative on establishment of state scholarships in honor of Heroes of Heavenly one hundred best students, young scientists and students”, — said the President.
The head of state stressed that the scholarship should bear the names of five of the most young age of the victims of the revolution of Dignity — Ustym Golodniuk, Nazar Voytovych, Yuri Amendments of the Novel gurik’s and Dmitry Maksimov. “I consider appropriate the establishment of such fellowships in schools where they wanted to learn,” — said Petro Poroshenko.
The participants honored the memory of fallen Heroes of the Heavenly hundred with a moment of silence.
The President also noted that “to build a country which was the dream of the Heavenly hundred Heroes needed inner peace and the strong support of the world in the struggle against external aggression”.
The meeting took place on the territory of Mikhailovsky Cathedral. After the meeting the President along with the families of the Heavenly hundred Heroes will take part in the memorial service for the fallen heroes.
Recall that during the revolution of Dignity on Maidan killed more than 100 people. They were called the Heavenly hundred.
