The Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that Ukrainians detained in Russia in the case of an international drug ring, are victims of traffickers.
As reported Saturday in the press service of the interior Ministry, we are talking about Ukrainians who went to Russia to work and was involved in the crime.
“Netpolice and MIA are consistently struggling with organized groups of traffickers. On the territory of the Russian Federation there are hundreds of our citizens who have become victims of human traffickers… the Propagandists of the Russian Federation represent them as victims of illegal fishing, namely as members of an organized criminal group”, – said the press service of the interior Ministry.
However, according to the interlocutor, in such cases it is very difficult to prove that we are talking about human trafficking, and it is difficult to return citizens to their homeland even for punishment.
Therefore, the Ministry of internal Affairs urged citizens of Ukraine not to look for easy earnings abroad.
As reported earlier, Russian media reported, citing the interior Ministry about curbing the activities of large-scale international drug ring “Khimprom”. In Russia in this case had been arrested 67 people and 47 of them were citizens of Ukraine. The interior Ministry says that Kiev was located recruiting offices, and in the Ukrainian media placed ads with the offer of paid work couriers in Russia.
On Saturday February 11, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry stated that it expects Russia to confirm information about the detention of 47 Ukrainians in the framework of the investigation of an international drug ring.
“To the foreign Ministry and the investigative Department of the MIA of the Russian Federation sent requests for confirmation of information on the presence among the detained citizens of Ukraine, alleged crimes, place of detention and presence of counsel,” reads the message on the page of the Department of consular service of the MFA of Ukraine in Facebook.
