The Cabinet has allocated 6.5 billion of arms and equipment of the APU according to NATO standards

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 6.5 bn envisaged in the state budget for the programme on development of arms and military equipment of the Armed forces of Ukraine in 2017.

According to the decree No. 81 of 8 February, the government allocated 6 billion 471,1 million UAH, of which 5,6 billion UAH allocated for the purchase and modernization of armament and military equipment, 520,5 million UAH on carrying out research and development work, 242,2 million UAH – for the establishment of a Unified automated control system of the APU.

In addition, the Cabinet has allocated 91 million UAH for the repair and modernization of the frigate “Hetman Sahaidachny”.

In the message, which is attached to the decree it is noted that this decision was made with the aim of equipping Ukrainian troops in accordance with the standards of NATO armies.

Naponim, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman today paid an official visit to Brussels where he visited the headquarters of NATO.

The Prime Minister invited the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, rose Gottemoeller to visit Ukraine and to ensure changes in the country.

Earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he intends to carry out in Ukraine, a national referendum on the possible entry of Ukraine into NATO.
