Groisman: in ten years Ukraine will be able to meet the criteria for joining the EU

Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman said that Ukraine can achieve the standards necessary to apply for membership in the European Union after 10 years.

“Without a doubt, we see that the time will come when we will submit an application for EU membership, nevertheless we understand what you need to do your homework first, and over a period of 10 years… 10 years is the period of time over which, if we perform our actions quickly, we will be able to meet the standards that will give us the opportunity to apply for membership. But it requires a lot of hard work, we have to be very precise in the execution of our plan of action – then we can talk about membership,” said the Prime Minister during the conference “Promotion and direction: the Reboot of the Ukrainian reforms” in Brussels on Thursday.

Groysman said that the Ukrainian society has made a decision on the course of European integration and the reforms conducted in the country focused on this goal.

According to him, Ukraine has faced the aggression of Russia, aimed not only against her but against European democratic values.

“If we go to war over the Ukraine, we are fighting for a democratic and civilized world, we are fighting for values,” said the Prime Minister.
