The national Council of Ukraine on television and radio broadcasting fined LLC “TV and radio “Chanson” on the 126 th and UK of “SHOOTING gallery “YUTAR” (broadcasts under the logo of Kiss FM, both Kiev) on 216 thousand violations of the law on the implementation of quotas on the volume of the songs and keeping the broadcast in the Ukrainian language.

In particular, OOO “TRC “IRTA” (Lugansk) — 26 thousand UAH, JSC “broadcasting company “Mayak” (Alexandria, Kirovograd region) — 4 thousand UAH, JSC “broadcasting company “Skifiya” (Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region) — 33,6 thousand UAH, JSC “Radio “New wave” — 36 thousand UAH, JSC “TRK “Simon” — 38 thousand UAH and “Teleradioveschateley company “Master” (broadcasts under the logo of Radio News, all three Kharkov) — 40 thousand UAH.
The national Council members noted that most of the violations were recorded in the first days after the entry into force of the law.
As reported, November 8, 2016, the law on quotas for songs in the Ukrainian language on the radio was in force. According to the law, a minimum percentage of songs in the Ukrainian language shall be 35% of the total during the day, in particular in the range from 7:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 22:00.
Identified as three-year transition period during which the quota is introduced gradually, 25%, 30% and 35%. The quota is reduced to 25% for radio companies that distribute musical works, including songs of the official EU languages constitute at least 60% of the total amount of songs distributed throughout the day.
