The President of the United States Donald trump held a telephone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It was the first conversation of the leaders after joining trump in the position of President of the United States.

The conversation lasted 45 minutes and took place in a positive tone, the publication reported, citing a source.
Reuters, citing the White house announced that trump during the meeting with Erdogan, expressed support for Turkey as a strategic partner and NATO ally. He also noted the commitment of the two countries to combat terrorism in all its forms and have welcomed the contribution of Turkey to combat “Islamic state.”
