Foreign Minister of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, said that the rapprochement between the US and Russia may not be at the expense of Europe or Ukraine. He said this following his visit to the USA, reports Tagesschau.de.

According to policy, the improvement of relations between the two world powers would be good for the development of the situation in Syria and Ukraine.

Earlier, French President Francois Hollande called on Western partners to agree on policy towards Russia.

“Europe maintains a dialogue with Russia. France leads the dialogue with Russia. The United States under the new administration will again conduct a dialogue with Russia. But in this we must coordinate our actions. First of all, in the European Union and between the European Union and its partners, in particular with the United States,” said Hollande.
