The Kremlin suffered another defeat in PACE.

Ukraine was able to win to PACE the victory over the Pro-Putin MP out of France Thierry Maiani, who ran for the post of head of polletta PACE on crime problems and the fight against terrorism. About this in Facebook said MP of Ukraine, PACE Vice-President Georgy Logvynsky.

“There are “friends for life”, and there are the same enemies. Today is our next fight with Pro-Putin French Deputy Mariani ended with the victory of Ukraine – unanimous decision I was elected head of the PACE sub-Committee on crime problems and the fight against terrorism. According to the plans of the Kremlin, this member – against whom in Ukraine there is criminal proceedings for the violation of our borders, visits to the Crimea and his lobbying for the idea that the Crimea is Russia and the sanctions should now be lifted, the offender and the agent of the terrorism was to become the head of the PACE Subcommittee on combating terrorism. We could not allow such a slap in the face of Ukraine and the entire Assembly,” he wrote.

As noted Logvinsky, in the end Mariani failed.

“Thank you for the unanimous decision of the Subcommittee about my election, and thank you colleagues from the European people’s party for the nomination to me. Now, when Europe and the world daily face-to-face with terrorism, this PACE Subcommittee should play a crucial role in the international arena of the fight against terrorism. I will use all the new opportunities for protecting human rights, combating international crime and aggression, and as a consequence speedy return control of Crimea and Donbass!”, – he wrote.

Earlier people’s Deputy of Ukraine Georgy Logvynsky was selected as one of 17 Vice-presidents at the session of the PACE Assembly in Strasbourg.

And the head of the permanent Ukrainian delegation to PACE, MP Volodymyr Aryev was re-elected Chairman of the Assembly Committee on culture, education, science and media.
