The newly elected President of the United States Donald trump will use the tool of sanctions against Russia, based on American business interests, at a press conference said Ukrainian experts.
“As for Crimea, the administration trump acknowledges that the annexation and justice of these sanctions. Plus trump is a businessman, so to throw out Russia from the remnants of the world market, where it still exists is energy and, to some extent, weapons, raw materials, on this he himself repeatedly declared,” – said the expert strategic consulting Corporation “Gardarika” Konstantin Matvienko at the press conference.
According to him, the Russian “Gazprom” is the main competitor of the US on energy in Europe. “So I think if the Obama administration used them more as a moral pressure on the Russian Federation, then trump, then there is the interest, direct benefits,” – said Matvienko.
Director of the sociological service “Ukrainian barometer” Victor Nebozhenko added that even before the inauguration of the trump “offered to exchange sanctions on disarmament”.
“This is a completely unequal things, but the fact that our sanctions have been used in world politics – that it is not even up to us, and they will be used for any reason,” he said.
Director of the Institute of global strategies Vadim Karasev said that, most likely, the EU will weaken the sanctions against Russia.
“As to trump the EU is not as important as the EU itself is under the pressure of these populist revolutions, it is clear that this whole sanctions policy will weaken,” – said the analyst.
In addition, he agreed with the view that the United States will now be guided in their policy of sanctions on business approach.
