The court in London took a break to take a decision on the case of “debt Yanukovych”

Judge of the High court in London, William Blair, hearing the case on “duty of Yanukovych,” took a break to render its verdict. This was stated by the correspondent of “Radio Svoboda” Bogdan Tsyupina, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

“The results of the hearing today, judge William Blair said that he would take into consideration all the information that was declared by representatives of both parties, and will announce its decision in due course. When exactly this will be is hard to say. People on the sidelines admit it may be a few days or even a few weeks,” commented the hearing, Bogdan Tsyupina.

According to the correspondent of “Radio Liberty” (from London) at the hearing, representatives of the Russian side asked the judge to make a decision in favor of Russia while returning $ 3 billion now, rapidly, and argued that the court is not necessary, since the arguments of defense of the Russian side, in their opinion, weak.

“The arguments advanced by the representatives of Ukraine, is not suited to English law, as it does not apply to the English legislation,” – said Bogdan Tsyupina.

He also noted that representatives of the Ukrainian side focused on the fact that we are not talking about an ordinary debt dispute, or that Ukraine has decided not to give money.

“The Ukrainian representatives in the court talked about the fact that the Ukrainian side has the opportunity to defend their case that she wants a trial was held, at which it wants to state their point of view that Russia’s attack on Ukraine prevented her to return the money,” – said Bogdan Tsyupina. According to him, representatives of the Ukrainian side believe that the Yanukovych government has violated many laws of Ukraine and should not take from Russia 3 billion dollars.

Recall that Mykola Azarov’s government received a loan of $ 3 billion in the framework of agreements between Russian President Vladimir Putin and then-President Viktor Yanukovych in December 2013.

In 2015, the Russian side has demanded the return of the debt, not accepting a proposal of debt restructuring. The Ukrainian authorities refused to recognize the duty official.
