President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with Vice-President of the European Commission Euro and social dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis and EU high representative for foreign Affairs and security policy – Vice-President of the European Commission Federico Mogherini in Davos. Poroshenko expressed gratitude for consistent support of Ukraine by the European Union in macroeconomic stabilization and implementation of socio-economic reforms.
In turn Valdis Dombrovskis welcomed the recent steps by the Ukrainian government to stabilize public finances.
In particular, he congratulated the timely approval of a balanced state budget by 2017, the health of the banking system, including the nationalization of “PrivatBank”, as well as the continuation of effective cooperation with the International monetary Fund.
Poroshenko stressed the importance of an early decision on granting Ukrainian visa-free regime.
