The ex-the Prosecutor of the GPU, worked under Viktor Pshonka, Vladislav Kutsenko said that the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) filed a proceedings against the Chairman of the National Bank (NBU) Valeria Gontareva and managing Director of Deposit guarantee Fund of individuals (fgvfl). The NBU received any convictions deny.
According to Kutsenko, proceedings concern the alleged fraud conducted with the assets of liquidated banks in the amount of about 315,6 billion.
“We are talking about the artificially low value of the assets 68 of liquidated banks from 415 billion to 99.4 billion UAH with the purpose of selling such assets for a pittance-controlled entities which, in turn, leads to disastrous consequences for the economy and for mass non-payment of debts to depositors of these banks,” wrote Kutsenko on his page in Facebook.
Criminal proceedings, according to former Prosecutor, was on part 3 of article 365-2 (abuse of power by persons who provide public services) of the Criminal code. In the case of evidence of guilt, the penalty is deprivation of liberty for a term of 5 to 8 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to 3 years, with possible confiscation of property.
At the same time, the NBU notes that he had not received any documents about the opening of criminal proceedings on abuse of officials of the NBU in the evaluation of assets of liquidated banks.
Moreover, the national Bank stresses that the functions of the officials of the NBU valuation of banks ‘ assets are generally not included.
In the case of receipt of the documents of the investigating authorities, the NBU promises to facilitate the investigation and provide information “to the comprehensive, full and objective investigation.”
We will remind, earlier the head of the NBU Valeria Gontareva has repeatedly stated that the real value of the assets derived from the market of banks was significantly less than the nominal value of these assets.
As you know, in the fall of 2016, the activities of the NBU leadership has undergone a new wave of criticism from Ukrainian politicians. Gontareva has traditionally been accused of fraud, embezzlement, the collapse of the hryvnia, and even falling living standards in Ukraine. However, the national Bank satisfied its activity and declare the implementation of a plan to curb inflation – by the end of 2016, this rate is 12.4% while the forecast of 12%.
