The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has defined the sizes of grants to students of higher educational institutions and a list of 20 professions which students are eligible to receive the raised grants.
According to the resolution No. 1047 of 28 December 2016, the minimum academic scholarships to students in vocational schools is 415 UAH per month; for students of universities I-II levels of accreditation – 830 UAH per month, for students in the field, for established academic scholarships at a higher rate – 1056 UAH per month; for students of universities of III-IV level of accreditation – 1100 UAH per month and for students. The amount of social scholarships for students of PTU is 1000 UAH per month; students of universities and scientific institutions – 2000 UAH per month. The size of the academic scholarships of the President of Ukraine for students of PTU is 1200 UAH per month; for students of universities I-II levels of accreditation – 1800 UAH per month; for students of universities of III-IV level of accreditation – 2300 UAH per month. Size personal and academic scholarships established by the Cabinet of Ministers for vocational school students is 1000 UAH per month; for students of universities I-II levels of accreditation – 1600 UAH per month; for students of universities of III-IV level of accreditation – 2100 UAH per month.
The scholarship of the President to the participants and winners of international student Olympiads in basic subjects is: – 2200 UAH per month; prize winners – 2500 UAH per month. The scholarship of the President for the winners of all-Ukrainian student Olympiads in basic subjects and of the all-Ukrainian contest-defense of scientific research works of pupils-members of Small Academy of Sciences is 2200 UAH per month, and government scholarships to winners of the all Ukrainian student Olympiad in Ukrainian language and literature – 2000 UAH per month.
Increased scholarships in the amount of 1400 UAH a month are paid to students who study on specialties: secondary education (mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, computer science); special education; biology; Earth science; physics and astronomy; applied physics and nanomaterials; mathematics; applied mechanics; materials science; engineering; aviation, rocket and space technology. As well as in the field of: shipbuilding; metallurgy; power engineering, electrical engineering; energy engineering; nuclear energy; thermal power; hydropower; mining; oil and gas engineering and technology.
Recall, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the procedure of assignment and payment of grants to students, which provides the possibility of obtaining academic scholarships 40-45% of students of higher educational institutions.
