Poroshenko said, so the army moved on professional basis

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that due to the Minsk agreements failed to gain time for the transition of the Ukrainian army to a professional basis. This he said during a visit to the Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol, reports RIA Novosti-Ukraine.

He recalled that in 2016, managed to attract a contract in the army of 70 thousand people, which allowed to refuse the next wave of mobilization.

“This year the task of strengthening the defense we decided without mobilization. Fourth, fifth, sixth queue we demobilized. Ukrainian military returned home to civilian life, to the family and friends. Instead of the seventh, eighth and ninth waves signed by nearly 70 thousand contracts” – said Poroshenko.

The President stressed that the talks in Minsk allowed the Ukrainian army to reform.

“Due to the Minsk agreements, we won the time to translate army on a professional basis for its armament, rearmament and re-equipment,” – said Poroshenko.

As reported, Petro Poroshenko stated the violation of silence regime in Donbas, which was confirmed by the recent hot Bori in the area of Svetlodarsk arc. He noted that, by refusing to respect the silence, the invaders suffered huge losses.
