Ukraine will consider the possibility of purchasing coal from South Africa, China and Australia. This was stated by Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik, reports “Correspondent”.
“We will have state stock. Funds are allocated to state reserves of anthracite coal group. There are not so many suitable options. This is South Africa, Australia and China,” he said.
Recall President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed to put into effect the NSDC decision on the diversification of fuel sources for power plants.
The Cabinet issued guidelines on limiting consumption, which will help to avoid rolling blackouts in the conditions adopted emergency measures in the energy sector. The reason for this decision was the blocking of tracks from the uncontrolled territory of Donbass, which supplied the coal required for thermal power plants.
Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman said that he sees no alternative supply of coal from enterprises in the occupied Donbas in order to ensure the heat supply.
