Ukraine needs help from Western partners in resolving the Crimean issue
Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories Alexey Reznikov has proposed a new format of negotiations for the return of the occupied Crimea. He believes that it is necessary to create a separate meeting area, as the Minsk talks are only to Donbass.
He told about it on air “Radio Crimea.Realities”.
According to him, in any case, you need the assistance of Western partners in resolving the Crimean issue.
“I know that Leonid Kuchma (the second President of Ukraine. – Ed.) several times raised it (the issue of the annexed Crimea. – Ed.) but the Russian side reacts to it very strongly, until that gets up from the table. But I do know that in the “channel format” and the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and political advisors raise the subject, it sounds at the level of leaders. Really, you need to work in order to create a Crimean area which was not in Minsk, and, for example, Chisinau or Brussels. But anyway, without the help of Western partners we need,” – said Reznikov.
We will note, earlier there were talks, they say, Ukraine could persuade Russia to make concessions regarding the Donbass, but at the cost of recognition of the annexation of Crimea. However, the official Kiev has repeatedly stated that such an option impossible. As reported “Today” in Age Of Liberty Forum 2020, the President of Ukraine made an important statement about the occupied Peninsula. Zelensky has made it clear that Crimea will not change for the sake of peace in the Donbass.

Crimea was illegally annexed by Russia in March 2014 after the “referendum” is not recognized neither Ukraine nor the world community. Including the “Crimean referendum” does not recognize and the United Nations.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially declared on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. 7 Oct 2015 the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law. International organizations have recognized the occupation and annexation of Crimea as illegal and have condemned Russia’s actions. Western countries have imposed a series of economic sanctions.
