The high Council of justice of Ukraine adopted amendments to the regulations regarding the granting of consent to the judge in the custody or under arrest, the head of this body Igor Benedick.
“The General Prosecutor’s office, Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office concerning the granting of consent to the election of a preventive measure related to the restriction of freedom, the Council will consider immediately,” said Benedick.
According to him, these amendments to the regulations enable the court to consider this question within the period stipulated in the Criminal procedure code of Ukraine – that is for 72 hours from the time of detention of a person.
“If necessary, meetings of the Supreme Council of justice will be conducted in weekends or holidays,” – said the head of the Council.
