The words of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski regarding Stepan Bandera harm relations between the two countries. This was stated by Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky, transfers TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
According to him, the statement of the Warsaw historical disputes with Kiev is untimely.
“Statements of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland, Waszczykowski are late, unfriendly, and harmful to bilateral Ukrainian-Polish relations. Without any doubt these words require the reaction of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry, I hope that our foreign political office would call the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland for explanations about the statements of foreign Minister of this country, or our Ambassador Deshchytsia will make a visit to the Ministry and will also require relevant explanations”, – told Lubkivsky.
The diplomat also noted that prior to the entry of Ukraine into the European Union is still far. “It will take a long time, and obviously will change more than one Waszczykowski and the situation will change,” he added.
We will remind, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski said Poland will veto the potential Ukraine’s accession to the EU, if not addressed historical issues and issues of minority rights. “Our message is very clear: Bandera in Europe, you will not come,” – said the head of the Polish foreign Ministry.
