4 July in Kyiv Maryna Poroshenko and the Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration Valentyn Reznichenko presented the project to the resource room for special children in the framework of the initiative of the first lady of the country for the implementation of inclusive education in Ukraine. About it reports a press-service of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration.
The project was designed by architects from the Dnieper on the idea and the technical task of the Fund of Maryna Poroshenko.
Resource rooms are special classrooms for children with special needs, equipped with everything necessary for a good training and socialization of these students. Here children can relax together with an assistant teacher, special needs teacher or parents.
These rooms are suitable not only for children with autism and other mental disabilities and even normal children have difficulty in mastering the school curriculum, adaptation to school requirements or conditions. They are comfortable and for the teachers, making the process of inclusion of special children in full learning easy and comfortable.
The project, initiated by Marina Poroshenko, will be implemented in all schools that have joined the initiative. And Dnipropetrovsk region — one of five pilot regions of Ukraine, where the mechanisms of inclusive education are being implemented.
“Despite the difficulties that the country is now experiencing, we try to be human and to care for those who, because of terrible life circumstances require special treatment and special conditions. In our country, should not be rejected, the forgotten, unwanted children. And we will do everything to make each of them feel happy and popular,” – said Valentin Reznichenko.
After inclusion of the Dnipropetrovsk region in the project of Maryna Poroshenko, the number of children with special needs who study in regular schools has grown from 276-year the past academic year to 399-ti from 1st September. From July 5 to begin the repair and equipment of resource rooms in Petrykau support the school in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the reconstruction of which was started a month ago. It is planned that the resource room in this school will open on September 1.
