In the case of the bill on the recognition of political prisoners, persons deprived of personal freedom by the Russian authorities, political prisoners can be found about 60 Ukrainians. This was announced by the Minister for occupied territories Vadim Chernysh.
“We are talking about just over 40 people, which were generally taken into account in the Ministry, and 22 persons who are now (finally – Ed.)”, – he said to journalists on Thursday, may 25.
According to the Minister, the Ministry has already appealed to the Ministry of Finance with a request to establish funds for social payments to political prisoners, especially, we are not talking about large sums of money for the state budget.
Blackie said that he hoped the Parliament the draft law on the recognition of political prisoners and payment of social allowances.
“We will convene a working group will listen to all suggestions, incorporate, and I think that at the next session he may be made (in the session hall of the Parliament – Ed.)”, he said.

The Ministry noted that Ukraine is the proper regulation of the recognition of political prisoners, persons deprived by the Russian authorities of personal liberty for political reasons. Also there is no procedure and terms of providing them with state social assistance and benefits.
In this regard, the Ministry developed the bill to address these issues.
In particular, the draft proposes that political prisoners recognized as citizens of Ukraine, deprived of their personal liberty for political reasons by decision of the authorities of the Russian Federation in connection with their civil or political activities aimed at defending territorial integrity and national unity of Ukraine in the territories, where the authorities temporarily do not exercise their powers or in the temporarily occupied territory.
