The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the United States can join the “channel format”. He said this while on a working visit in the United States, reports TSN.
According to him, U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson aware of the situation regarding the Ukrainian issue, in particular the Russian aggression against Ukraine. With him they discussed issues concerning the settlement of the situation in the Donbass.
Also Klimkin said that the United States is likely to become participants in the “Norman format”, but he noted that is important, not the format, and the success of negotiations.
“He (Tillerson. – Ed.) now understands not just the overall logic of our common position, but is aware of the details. Now it’s time to put the screws to Lavrov, I really hope he succeeds… We thoroughly talked over the phone, you might want to meet according to recent contacts with the Russian side”, – said Klimkin.
We will remind, today scheduled to meet Rex Tillerson with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Washington, during which will discuss Ukraine and Syria.
