The Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis said that Russia chooses the path of the strategic enemy. The corresponding statement he made on Friday in London.
“At the moment Russia chooses the path of strategic enemy, which is why we can have very modest expectations about where we can cooperate with Russia in comparison with what we had 5-10 years ago”, he argued.
Earlier it was reported that U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson stated the need to discuss the position of NATO in Eastern Europe due to Russian aggression in Ukraine. “We want the debate around the position of NATO in Europe, mostly in Eastern Europe in response to Russian aggression in Ukraine and other places,” said Tillerson.
As noted, such a statement indicates a more rigid attitude of the US administration to the Kremlin.
