The number of higher educational institutions of I-IV levels of accreditation in Ukraine for the 2016-2017 academic year is 657 units, which is 35.6% less than as of the 1990-1991 academic year. This is evidenced by the State statistics service of Ukraine, reports UNN.
At the same time, compared with the 2015-2016 academic year, the number of higher educational institutions of I-IV accreditation levels decreased by 0.03% or by 2 units.
Also, during the years of independence Ukraine has experienced growth in the number of graduate and doctoral students – 51.5% and 28%, respectively.
We will remind, in February of this year, Mont revoked the licenses of universities on the territory of the occupied Donbas and Crimea.
